Chelsea Young’s Bio
Chelsea Young, a native of Jackson, MS, is the founder of the local Mississippi arts organization Musical Expressions Experience. A self-published author and dynamic musician, Chelsea is also a hip-hop performer known by her stage name BabycDaRealist.
An artist at heart, Chelsea strives to place arts education into the hands of Mississippi youth through music and storytelling. Through her passion for music and love of art, she blends the two into her creative work—whether it’s painting, performing, or writing. Drawing from her real-life experiences, Chelsea expresses and shares her daily journey through her art, offering inspiration and representation to her community.
Chelsea began painting as a child and never stopped, developing a love for landscapes and portraits, drawn to the richness of acrylics and their ever-expanding palettes and mediums. Her passion is to introduce diverse cultures of art to Mississippi youth and provide dynamic learning experiences that will instill a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
