Chelsea Young is a Mississippi-based author, illustrator, educator, and founder of Musical Expressions Experience, a nonprofit arts initiative committed to using music, literacy, and technology to uplift and empower youth.

With a background in music education and a passion for culturally responsive storytelling, Chelsea writes books that reflect the voices, rhythms, and brilliance of Black children and their communities. Her debut children’s book, Jewel the Fox and His Bucket Drumming Experience, is a heartwarming celebration of creativity, confidence, and the magic of sound in everyday life.

Through her work, Chelsea encourages young readers to embrace who they are, dream boldly, and discover the beauty in their own unique rhythm. Whether leading workshops, composing music, or writing stories, her mission remains the same: to inspire, educate, and affirm the next generation.
